Internet Without Borders is a traveling conference-laboratory uniting technology professionals, journalists, activists around a common challenge: ending the Russian invasion of Ukraine as soon as possible. 

Between March 24-25th the conference will come to Prague. We invite people from the region (and those willing to travel) to submit your ideas for talks, presentations, panels, demos and workshops, as well as hackathon challenges, on some of the following thematics: 

Anti-censorship boot camp 

  • Understanding censorship circumvention technologies
  • Satellite, radio and mobile communication strategies for evading censorship
  • Censorship analysis as a tool for circumvention

Internet Freedom agitprop

  • Targeted outreach / advertising / messaging for different audiences
  • Ensuring the online availability, accessibility and re-transmission of independent media and anti-war information sources

Digital Antiwar Resistance

  • Secure communications in adversary and isolated networks
  • OSINT research to discredit propaganda narratives
  • Supporting anti-war communities and influencers’ campaigns

The conference will be held in English and Russian with simultaneous translations provided and take place over 2 days. Possible formats for your contribution include: presentations or demos (15 minutes); panel discussion (55 minutes); interactive group sessions, workshops or brainstorming (up to 1.5 hours), interview with an expert (30 minutes). You can suggest a different format as well.

The second day (March 25th) is entirely dedicated to “Hackathon Without Borders”. We invite you to suggest one-day small-team challenges aiming to improve existing solutions for anti-censorship technologies and tactics, as well as design and prototype new ideas for strengthening the ambitions and results of the anti-war movement. Hackathon challenges will be awarded a bounty prize by the conference organizers.

The event is organized by eQualitie and Teplitsa (Technologies for Social Good) with support from the Internet Defense Society and Novaya Gazeta Europe. We will be joined by our technology partners AmneziaVPN, Lantern, Access Now, OONI, New Node and CENO
